Looking back, it hardly seems possible that 20 years has passed sense I first traveled the Yukon in the winter of 1983. I had just returned from military duty in Germany and was full of a desire to seek out adventure. The Yukon delivered upon this desire in a most impressive way.
If one thing stands out about that trip it would be that the cold and snowy weather made the road conditions miserable. The snow was deep and the roads narrow as I wound my way through the most magnificent country that I had ever seen. This trip was not without incident but those situations led me to meet some friends that I revisit every time through.
I have now some 28 trips behind me through the Yukon and down the Alaska Highway. Will there be more? As sure as you are reading this today, I am planning out my next adventure to this region.
